Why choose Shaku Maku
- Palestinian-led kitchen — we cook the food we grew up on.
- Recipes from family, not from a textbook. The seven-spice blend matters.
- Brand-led, hospitality-first — we focus on the food and the welcome, not headlines.
- Same kitchen, same standards whether it's a five-person lunch or a three-hundred-guest reception.
Frequently asked questions
Do you cook traditional Palestinian dishes outside the standard menu?
Yes — musakhan, maqluba, mansaf and other traditional dishes are available for booked feast menus with enough notice (typically a week for larger events). Email catering@shakumaku.ie to discuss.
Is the food spicy?
Spiced for warmth and aroma rather than heat — Palestinian cooking leans on cumin, allspice, sumac, cardamom and parsley rather than chilli. Most dishes are comfortable for kids; we'll flag the few that aren't.
What is the minimum order for catering?
€100 for collection and €350 for delivery. Per-person Shaku Feast buffets have a 30-guest minimum so the kitchen can prep the full spread.
How much notice do you need?
Forty-eight hours is the standard minimum. For events of 50 guests or more we recommend a week so we can lock the kitchen timings and confirm delivery windows around your run-of-show.
Do you offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options?
Yes — every section of our menu carries a vegetarian option, with vegan and gluten-free spreads available on request. We can split a single delivery across multiple dietary trays so every guest is looked after.
